Commission process

It can start with a photo or just a conversation. A memory or an idea.

The whole process of commissioning a painting is often emotionally driven and can be a very special experience. Because of this, I believe the more information I can gather, the better. This can be in person, via phone or email. Following the initial consultation and order, I can formalise pricing, composition and size of the piece and also advise on the time frame for the painting to be completed. Find out more about the techniques I use.

Terms & conditions

  • From accepting the quote, allow approximately 2 weeks for the canvas and 2 weeks for the art as minimum. In special circumstances this can be shortened, depending on medium and painting surface chosen.

  • A deposit of 50% of the agreed price is required to order the canvas.

  • 2 x process photos will be sent for discussion:

  1. Full size block-in and outline of the composition on the canvas

  2. Progress after three quarters of the work is completed and as colour develops. This is the final point where any small changes can be discussed and made.

  • On completion of the painting, you will receive a photo of the finished artwork along with the invoice.

  • The painting will then be prepared for delivery. Where possible, I can offer personal delivery or if not I can arrange the necessary postage at additional cost.

I look forward to hearing your vision and ideas.
